Day 84 of the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Since the raid last Tuesday much has changed within the actual organization of the movement for Occupy Wall Street.
I have since found out that during the raid by the New York Police Department officers were notified that two six-weed old pitbull puppies were inside of a tent. Two officers proceeded to stomp on the tent and crush the puppies to death with their boots. Another small black dog named 'Mister' was pepper sprayed in the face and was hospitalized. My friend Jackson is devastated. He is their caregiver.
Many other people were arrested, beaten, pepper sprayed and intimidated all night. The police arrived like cowards at 1AM and sweep the rug out from underneath us all. The occupation was becoming too big for itsself. There were little to no walkways remaining. Violence had been a daily occurrance.
I have been harrassed 3 times by the security hired to watch Liberty Plaza. There are two security guards there I have noticed enjoy creating rules out of thin air.
-No cardboard signs
-No tarps and tents
-No musical instruments
-No large backpacks
-No large amounts of food
-No standing on the marble seating areas
-No lying down or sleeping
This morning caution tape which has now strategically covered our regular seating area has been tied to the trees sectioning off where we would meet daily.
There is hope within the midst of this. Others are meeting, including myself to discuss future events, marches and actions which we feel as a group will help us to further this movement.
We are not going anywhere.
This is a peaceful movement and even if members of the NYPD refuse to be peaceful, we must show them love. On the other hand we cannot allow for them to murder and pepper spray innocent animals. We cannot allow for them to assault occupiers. We cannot just sit back and accept this as okay within our society.
I love you all.
